The Hong Kong Cricket Club (“HKCC”) was founded in 1851 and is recognised as one of the premier private sporting clubs in Hong Kong. HKCC Rugby Section (“the Club”) was formed after amalgamating with Aberdeen Rugby Football Club in 2004. The Club has won Division 1 championships or grand finals in 2001/2, 2005/06 and 2006/07 and won grand finals at each level in which the Club competes. It has won Union 7s titles on multiple occasions.

We are affiliated with HKU Sandy Bay at mini and youth level, with approximately 380 mini and 140 youth players at Sandy Bay. The Club offers rugby to men, women, boys and girls of all ages. It is the Club's objective to enable all its rugby players to perform at the highest standards they can attain. The Club will provide support by creating high quality facilities and qualified coaching instruction for all playing Members. HKCC Rugby will have a fulltime coach with international experience for the coming season. We will seek to enable each individual and each team to play to their full potential, and will take pride in their achievements. We currently
have two reps in the HK7s team and 5 players in the HK XVs playing in the Asian 5 Nations.
Off the field, we have a full range of activities and enjoy the social side. Post games, we have captain’s speeches, players awards and general banter. Functions include Pre season pool party, Christmas Celidh, HK7s Dinner with international speakers and an End of season Prize Giving. Other than Rugby, in the off season, we have a successful Dragon Boat racing team, touch rugby sides, 5 a side football, squash comps, boot camps for the fitness enthusiast and boating activity for the nautically inclined.
